Early Childhood Development (ECD) is crucial for achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It impacts many of the 17 sustainable development goals, especially those related to poverty, hunger, health and wellbeing, education, gender, and inequality. To support ECD and youth empowerment programs in Kosovo, Devolli Corporation (DCO) has pledged to promote education and empower Kosovan children and youth. DCO is collaborating with UNICEF Kosovo to advance these initiatives.
DCO and UNICEF Kosovohave partnered to support UNICEF Kosovo's Early Childhood Development Programme and establish community-based Early Childhood Education (ECE) Centres in Kosovo for children aged 3 and 4 years. These centers will provide a new approach to address the care and education needs of young children in rural areas and those at risk of exclusion from essential services. The collaboration will assist two municipalities in establishing two new ECE centers, with staffing, operational, and outreach support. Additionally, 10 existing preschool facilities will be equipped with materials, and staff will be trained in experiential learning techniques, benefitting up to 700 children and empowering 400 parents.
